A peek at the life, times and thoughts of John during his two-year stint in Knoxville.

Leaving Knoxville until Sunday for a college/younger adults retreat. It looks like a great location and should be fun. Hopefully I can squeeze in some homework while I'm there.

We had a semi-quarterly book grab at school today. At each one there are always selected books set aside, and who gets first dibs is based on if your number gets drawn. Through some incredible luck my number was second and I landed a nearly complete set of Gospel Advocate commentaries. I know this says nothing to many of you who will read this, but anything with names like "David Lipscomb" or "Guy N. Woods" in the author slot merits some attention.

In the more generic pickup portion I got a few Batsell Barrett Baxter books and a decent variety of other books I thought could prove helpful later on in life in the work. A book or two with devotional ideas, a book of quotes for Church bulletins and a few other books that might be useful. I'm certainly pleased with my selections.

It's been raining in Knoxville for two days. Big fun.
