A peek at the life, times and thoughts of John during his two-year stint in Knoxville.

I'm not sure why I feel so good sometimes when I'm so busy, but it's proving to be the case again.
It should be noted in fairness that I am not *so* busy that I'm literally work-work-work 24/7 with no time for rest. If that were the case, this blog wouldn't be getting written. But it is certainly the case that there is *plenty* to do and a lot keeping me busy.
My organization skills are being put to the test in ways they were in the first quarter but not as much in the second, reading and working and staying diligent are shaping up to be absolute necessities this quarter. This might shape up to be a very difficult quarter, but I think it's shaping up to be rewarding too.
There is already more "work" in the form of pen-and-paper answer questions, write responses work. There's also a lot more reading this quarter. "Big Boy School" is officially in session.
We started homiletics today, meaning we're starting to learn how to write and deliver sermons. So far the outlining part is strikingly similar to pretty much every communications class I had in college. Not surprising since the need to organize thoughts and present them clearly is pretty widespread. It's classes like this one where I'm glad I've had some exposure to writing and outlining and yes, even public speaking.
