As a proud Marshall alumni I honestly wouldn't have lost sleep if West Virginia had gotten steamrolled by Oklahoma like virtually everybody thought they would.

I was surprised that they not only played competitively, they stayed ahead of Oklahoma all night, finishing with a 48-28 beatdown and an improbable Fiesta Bowl win.

Congratulations. As much as I might grumble while admitting it, the win was gigantic for the state and a great way to put some of the turmoil of the past month behind.
