You miss 100 percent of the test questions you don't answer.
I was relieved Wednesday when I found that the test in front of me for our class about The Christian Home was looking very manageable. It was two parts: one page was from memory and then the second part of the test allowed the use of our Bibles. I was cruising through the first part of the test without incident and while scanning over the first page noticed that there was, indeed, a question about the song "The Cat's in the Cradle."
If you don't know the song I don't know where you've been all your life. The teacher had referenced it in class to demonstrate that fathers need to take time for their children. I didn't even read the entire question at this point for two reasons: 1. It was the last question on the page and I wasn't to that one yet. 2. I knew what the question was going to say and what the answer would be.
I returned to work on the test.
As I said, the first part of the test was easy. I turned it in and received the second part of the test. It was very manageable considering we could use a Bible.
I was well into the second part of the test when I remembered something...I never filled in the answer to the Cat's in the Cradle question. It was tucked away so neatly at the bottom of the page and I was so concerned about having the True/False section above it completed that I had managed to overlook it and hand in that portion of the test without answering the question.
I got my test back. I missed only one. A 98 percent is good, don't get me wrong. But it's frustrating to miss a 100 because of a mindless oversight. Especially frustrating is that I make a point of looking at my paper to make sure the blanks are all filled in before turning it in. That this one got away is disgusting.
